Monday Musings by our very own Elen C.

This gorgeous dress has the definite feel of something that should be enjoyed in one of the Island's beautiful gardens, perhaps even to a garden party. The cut of the dress paired with the lace and illusion neck, give it a soft vintage feel. The broad floral lace is softened by the sheer quality of the fabric and the simple belt. This dress would be stunning for a bridesmaid when paired with a pair of simple heels or as a wedding guest (but don't worry ladies the lace is also available in "Skyline" or "Black" so you won't outshine the bride). This classic dress will become the staple of your closet for nearly every occasion. To dress it up throw on some sparkly earrings and a bracelet or to make it more casual, add wide brimmed sun hat and some flats. It has the perfect vibe for an evening picnic on the grounds of Government House in the height of the summer, or for a posh afternoon tea at the Empress with friends. You are sure to shine, no matter how you wear this one!
Wedding Wednesdays by our very own Courtney P.

This past week I have had the privilege to take part in our biannual buying trip! The owners Amanda and Monica and myself were on the hunt for the newest Bridal, Bridesmaid and Accessory styles for the up and coming season! I wrote a mini journal with some of my exciting buys and moments I wanted to share! HERE WE GO! It is 6:00 am, not quite a time I'd like to rise from my comfy bed, but exciting, as today I travel to for a 3 day Bridal Buying trip! Well worth the early morning rise. While en route, coffee in hand, all I could think of was how exciting it is to shop for our store. To scope out all the newest inspirations from wedding gowns to bridesmaids dresses and bring them back to share with our Island Brides! Representatives for our gorgeous lines flew from all of the country to meet together and show their lines! Our first appointment was for Alfred Sung Bridals. We walked into a show room FULL of stunning Bridal Gowns all lined up with different styles and, you guessed it, Shades of White! I thought to myself, wow how am I going to choose a handful of style rather than the entire collection? The first gown (of many) that caught my eye was a little white tea length gown with an elaborate lace neckline, sleeve and full tulle skirt! Very 1940's inspired. All it needs is a birdcage veil, gloves and fancy shoes! A very successful viewing!
The day ended with our Maggie Sottero appointment - one of my favourites for sure and not just because my very own wedding gown was 'Rowena' from this incredible collection! Needless to say I was overly excited to see her newest styles! A few styles that had our hearts aflutter were sheath silhouettes seemingly inspired by the Great Gatsby, a very romantic, yet vintage look. The designs truly took my breath away. The other highlights were the stunning use of Gold's. Gold fabrics, embellishments paired with exquisite lace was a big feature in their designs this year. As the day came to an end, we found ourselves invited to a classy library inspired lounge with a glass of wine finalizing our style choices for Maggie Sottero - bringing in more samples than we ever have before from this name! A great way to end a fantastic and successful day!
The next few days were quite exciting, in rooms filled with gorgeous gowns, we found ourselves choosing gowns that really spoke to us and had a special place in our hearts. Venus Bridals, San Patrick, the amazing Allure Collections! Ball gowns, A-lines, Fit and Flares all has amazing details but as I chose the gowns I imagined which bride would suit the design. Also choosing accessories such as earrings, tiaras, necklaces, bracelets, belts and hairpieces to complete the look.
OH! and Ladies, the shoes we have bought for you are striking! All I will say is they're pretty shiny!
Well I shall wrap up my journal entry for now. I can honestly say I cannot wait until the items we have bought come in for all of you to see, and maybe soon have for your very own special day!
